Anastasis means resurrection in Greek.

At Anastasis, we take great pride in our coffee beans. Our name is a testament to our belief that every batch of coffee we roast will be equally as vibrant and full of life as the last. It all began 10 years ago when our founder, Hernan Barrionuevo, was studying in Argentina. Fascinated by coffee and passionate about roasting, Hernan quickly became an expert in the art of crafting delicious whole bean coffee.

Argentina has a strong espresso culture, and it is all about socializing with friends and family over a cup of freshly roasted coffee. Hernan loved this aspect of Argentine coffee culture so much that he decided to approach a local bakery and see if they were interested in partnering up. He offered to buy a coffee machine for their bakery in exchange for free croissants every morning! This tiny yet ingenious idea blossomed into Anastasis Coffee Roasters: a small but beloved roastery that has quickly become a fixture within the community in Te Atatu South.
